Medical Center Barbour

We all know that February is a time for romance and passion, but it’s also a great time for Medical Center Barbour to show Barbour County and the surrounding areas that they love them and want them to be healthy in many different ways this month!

Medical Center Barbour has a few ways planned to show their love to the community in February. After all, what is a hospital without its patients to provide care for?

One thing Medical Center Barbour has planned to show their community some love is a series of social media posts to be posted on their MCB Family Care Clinics’ (Louisville, Lake Eufaula Primary Care, Eufaula, and Hurtsboro) and Specialty Clinic’s Facebook and Instagram pages to provide heart health recipes and tips to maintaining a healthy heart all month long in honor of American Heart Health Month.

Another thing Medical Center Barbour is doing to spread love is teaming up with SpectraCare and the Eufaula Police Department to provide an on-site drug take back day on February 13 called the “Prescription of Love Drug Take Back Day.” This event will be right at Medical Center Barbour from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., and the public is encouraged to drop any and all of their unwanted and unused drugs to keep them from being abused and out of our water systems. All of the drugs dropped off will be disposed of in a proper and safe manner, but the best thing about this drop off is that it is completely anonymous.

Another event that Medical Center Barbour is hosting in partnership with the Eufaula Community Center is the first “Move for Your Heart” event! This fun and free event will take place at the Eufaula Community Center and will include free heart-healthy fitness classes offered by the Eufaula Community Center and other local fitness organizations. Complimentary blood pressure screenings, fun giveaways, and lots and lots of heart health information will be provided at this event as well. Mark your calendar for February 18 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and come out that day to learn how to keep your heart healthy!

Lastly and importantly, Medical Center Barbour is excited to announce that they are again hosting monthly community Mental Health and Wellness Support Group Meetings to show their love for the community all year long! These group meetings, once referred to as Alzheimer’s Support Group Meetings, have expanded to include a vast array of other mental health and wellness topics that will cover relapse prevention, caregiver support, dealing with anxiety, coping with mental health during the holidays, and so much more! These meetings will take place every third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Medical Center Barbour Cafeteria and are free to attend. Coffee and dessert will be provided at all meetings, and there will be fun activities and door prizes at each gathering as well. Come out to learn something new at these informational group meetings hosted by Medical Center Barbour’s Medical Stabilization Program and Senior Care Unit!

As you can see, Medical Center Barbour cares deeply for its community and wants to spread the love this February and every month of the year. Whether you are sick with the flu and come in for care at one of their MCB Family Care Clinics, are visiting their cardiologist Dr. Reddy to manage your heart disease, are safely dealing with withdrawals in their Medical Stabilization Program, are having treatment for a non-healing wound in their Wound Care Clinic, or are visiting the ER for a medical emergency, Medical Center Barbour is here for you to provide the same loving care that they would provide to their own families.
