Barbour County’s smallest town, Blue Springs, has a total area of 2.9 miles of land. Blue Springs State Park is a 103-acre property along the West Fork Choctawhatchee River on Hwy. 10 near the center of town. It features a spring pool, which gushes 3,600 gallons of cool, clean water per minute; a campground; playground areas; bath house; and covered pavilions for picnicking. Operated by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, it is open year round from 7 a.m. until sundown with two great restaurants nearby.
